A Small Surprise

When you’re giving a gift “just because” and there’s not a specific timeline for the recipient to receive it, consider hiding the gift in plain sight. If you ordered a keychain, add it to their key ring so they find it the next time they grab their keys. Add a purse charm to their handbag, or put a bracelet in place of their favorite coffee mug so they find it the following morning.

Add a Little Something Extra

If you like to give multiple items together as a gift, add a little something to your custom design with a coordinating gift. You could give their favorite beverage with a personalized bottle opener or a custom money clip attached to a gift card for their favorite coffee shop. Add a bracelet to a bouquet of flowers or a necklace to a beautiful houseplant.

Get Creative with the Wrapping

Instead of traditional wrapping paper, use a map of a meaningful place as the wrapping. It could be a map of the place you met, a favorite trip together, or just someplace memorable to you both.

If your recipient has a sense of humor, you can add a little suspense to the gift with a misleading package. Use a box that’s much larger than the gift or re-purpose a box for a misleading item, like a toaster or a pair of shoes.

Holiday Gifting

Present the jewelry inside a clear glass ornament. You can find plain ornaments at many craft stores—just slip the hanger top off the ornament to slide the jewelry inside. The opening is usually small, so this idea is best for smaller necklaces.

Alternately, design your own personalized ornament and hide it among the branches on the tree or use it to adorn the top of a package.
